Hi all,
Having some problems with my windscreen since having it replaced. It's fine When it's not raining, but as soon as it gets wet it gets a greasy film all over it and it becomes hard to see, especially at night.
I'm using Stoners Invisible Glass which worked incredibly well before,
Was gonna try a glass polish then give Nanolex sealant a go, but don't want to seal in any problems?
I had a similar problem for a few months after having the windscreen replaced on my BMW 635. It seemed as if the replacement windscreen had been stored in plastic and there was a film that leached onto the windscreen which was only noticeable when it was humid and fogged up. I used Autoglym glass polish on the inside and outside of the windscreen once a week over a couple of months and it's stopped most of this happening. Some days when the sun is at a very specific angle you can get a bit of a sheen so i get the polish out and give it another go.
Years ago in the mid 80s i bought a car that had sat in the showroom of a car dealer with plastic price stickers on the windscreen and it took over a year using glass cleaners to remove the last vestiges of the stickers so you might just have to keep on cleaning and polishing for a while yet.
In short, i would just suggest a weekly application of a decent glass polish on the inside and outside, it's only a 10 minute job after all.

had the same issue on my new oem windscreen on my M3
was horrible, couldnt see anything when it rained
i tried a paint cleaner and sealant, only worked temporarily, tried autoglym glass polish and it worked only temporarily as well, it was as if using the wipers made the greasey film come back - i made a thread about it here a while back
i could actually see the greasy film and dots when washing the car or using a glass cleaner as it was flashing
it eventually just wore off on its own with continual washing
i think its some kind of plastic transfer from the windscreen "sweating" in its plastic wrap. I was at my panel beater when the new screen came in, and pulling the plastic wrapoff, it had a greasy stickyness that was hard to wash my off fingers, felt like oily glad wrap

Well Autoglym glass polish seems to have done the trick... 1 week on (not much rain but simulated rain with a hose :p ) and all seems to have vanished with just one application.
