Hi all,
i have purchased a 2002 Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8, Adriatic Blue with Navy leather seats and Parchment piping. Just love the colour combo as it is very unique.
I have always found British leather to have quite a different scent to German leather, however, mine seems to have lost a lot of that scent.
So am looking for top shelf products to assist with the restoration of that lovely scent.....and if they cleaned a little, then that would be a bonus.
Zaino Z9 and Z10 combo seem to be popular.....any others?

I've tried a lot of other products including some expensive ones and I always come back to Zaino Z10. It's scent lasts longer than anything else I've tried.
Another thing you can do is buy essential oils that smell of leather. I get mine from Ebay. Pour a bit of the oil on a brand new foam applicator and put it under the seat.

For the last 18 months i've been using this by Croftgate that i picked up on a trip to the UK. The smell when first applied is very, very strong and is of tobacco and soap. After a few days though that smell fades and leaves what reminds me of an old fashioned leather smell.
We've got two cars, both with leather seats. A Saab 9-5 with modern rather thin and mottled leather and a BMW 635 from 1986 with smooth and significantly thicker and more robust leather and the smell lingers longer on the BMW and has a more leather smell. The softening effect of the Croftgate is superb, i'd love to try it on some old, hard leather.
I haven't done a search for a while but the last time i looked some bloke up in Brisbane was selling some Croftgate products on Ebay

Connellys from the UK is the same. Its a white spirit based product so it has a metho smell about but it does settle down after while. It reminds me of old Jags LOL its very good stuff though especially the cleaner.

I've got some of the Connolly leather protectant but it's an Australian product rather than English. I bought it from a shoe shop in the city and it's recommended for car and home leather. I'm not that keen on it though as it's like sticky shoe polish and quite hard to apply and remove properly and needs a while after application to soak fully in or it marks clothes. I reckon if you've got proper Connolly leather on a Rolls Royce or Bentley which is that lovely soft but incredibly thick leather then it's probably perfect for that. Just let the chauffeur do all the hard work though.
It certainly smells of leather afterwards but more like a shoe shop than anything.

That's strange. This is is the Connolly Leather Feed that I use. I bought it from England and it's definitely made there.
Hmm Jamie, tales of mystery and intrigue in the leather care business
This is my tub that i just ran out to the shed in the rain and took a photo of.
I don't know what the go is with Connolly as the leather producers went into receivership some years ago and following your link to the UK made products goes to another company. Someone somewhere is clearly still making the same type of leather that Connolly made.
By the way while we're on the subject, i notice a lot of cars have leather interiors these days but on close inspection it's fairly ordinary thin stuff that's rarely smooth. I can't see it lasting very long at all in our climate as i'd bet London to a brick that only a tiny proportion of people will ever go to the effort of using any care products on it.

If I remember correctly, I bought my tub of Connolly conditioner and cleaner off Ebay from a UK vendor (although I could be mistaken. I've bought so much over the years!). It intrigues me now so I'll have a look at my Ebay account when I get home tonight to confirm.
The link I attached in my previous post was from a quick look on Google for an image of exactly what I bought. I was surprised myself when I read on their website that the original company had gone bust.

g'day Dan, sorry for the delay. I thought I was emailed when someone replied to a thread I started....oh well.
Yeah the Disco is going. Going to give it a quick clean up then shes up for sale. Top car that one. I have been delaying the sale for a while hoping my wife will agree to sell the Audi and let me keep the Disco...no go there
The Rangie is a different beast - complete silence, plenty of grunt from the 4.4 BMW V8 (which means plenty of oil leaks), leather, air suspension, best designed dash in history.....just brilliant. Oh, and my fuel bill has doubled..
