Hey Domino, that old 350z of yours looks fantastic!
Personally, I have always thought that the 350z looks prettier and more cohesive than the 370z...but that pic you posted of the grey 370 on the Volk rims does look hot!...purposeful and mean, but tastefully so.
I see you have a fetish for jap rims. The Work rims on your M3 looks gorgeous. I suppose the finish on them would be excellent too?.....well I think you are destined to buy a Jap car next.
The 370z looks like a good choice. A bit like a Japanese Porsche in philosophy. Tactile, somewhat raw, driver oriented and balanced...and rewarding for committed and skilled drivers.
Also has the benefits of being a jap Nissan, good build quality, reliability and mild state of tune from the factory...meaning that there is plenty of scope for tweaking with JDM parts which as you said are precision made and reasonably priced.

vorace the quality of the Works is impeccable.....to only need a tiny weight balance on a 3 piece wheel is definitely saying something about workmanship
also, the fact BBS, one of the most respected euro wheel brands, chooses to manufacture their LM series (forged) wheels in Japan also makes you think they must know what theyre doing
been surfing youtube for JDM exhausts, and found this one from Saclam....and that's without high flow cats or some trick Tomei headers
...thats a nice looking exhaust system there domino....sounds nice too, gives the 370 a higher revving, freer sound.
It looks like a 370 is the more interesting car to modify than the GTR. There would probably be more scope and relative potential to juice up the 370....and the JDM parts available look fantastic.
I think hotting up a GTR may be alot more costly and a waste if you dont know what you are doing.
Unfortunately the R35 I drove at a recent trackday had been somewhat molested. The owner had put on some jap titanium exhaust system (worth $11k) and had it modified with a Haltech ecu/interceptor. The exhaust just sounded like a jet on take off as he blew past me down the main straight, and there was a bit of popping and backfiring on overrun which didnt sound good. Personally I wouldnt let some local tuning dudes tweak a new R35 with a Haltech interceptor. Something like the R35 should be left close to stock, or carefully researched before modifying. I remember when I went out in it, after about 10 laps the water and oil temps were getting into the red zone and I had to back off and let it cool down...Im pretty sure that in factory tune this wouldnt happen...

What about sending it to a tune shop in japan before shipping to get work done? look into whether it would stuff up complience or what not as im not sure but some of the work they do there is amazing, i still remember some of the old 33's done by Kakimoto etc-truly amazing! Or you could go a DB7/9 or even XJR Supercharged?
