Here's my toy - the GT. I also had the Outlander until just recently. Currently I'm using Prima gear on it. I'm fairly happy with the results but looking for better. Any thoughts on what to use - it's a green/grey mica.

Take your pick Laughing This is where it gets tricky. Everyone has there own favourite products and people don't always agree on what's better than what. I myself have been impressed the Prima range, Amigo and Slick being up there with my favourite products to use.

More often it's the process rather than the products specifically that's gets the better end result. What is your process now and when you say you want better, what are you looking to improve?

Hey GTGuy, welcome to DP. What are Mitsubishi's like nowadays? I had a Lancer many years ago and it was an absolute piece of crap. I spent about $7 - 8k on it $4.5 on the transmission alone. Have sworn off Mits ever since.

Nice pics BTW.

Very Happy

Actually I will rephrase that: It's the process that goes with the products that gets the end result.

I am using Prima Mystique to wash, Banana Gloss and then Slick all over. Prima Nourish on the leather works really well. I'm impressed with that.

I'm getting Nice results with the BG but not long lasting. I've been using Megs for years and have only recently changed to the Prima gear. The paint is in VGC with just a few very minor fine hairline scratches. I do everything by hand, no machine and was looking for any advice on how to get the car looking the best possible (by hand)...

Any advice???

Thanks "Jim's".

The Mitsu's are fantastic - as the ad's say... Love that Car!!!

I really miss the Outie (changed jobs so regretfully it had to go).

The 380 GT especially is a really under-rated car. Great to drive, and fantastic value for money. The factory 5/10 warranty is a sign of how sure Mitsu is of build quality and reliability.

Shame they stopped production - it would have been great to see the follow up to this model.

My first suggestion would be to find yourself a sealant to lay down a durable base. The Banana Gloss can then be applied on top to hide the light swirls that have appeared.

If you are seeking perfection though then what you'll need to start researching is machine polishing. This process is where you'll find the most improvement.

Yeah a sealant would be the way to go if you want durability. The fillers in products will not last forever unfortunately and will eventually wash out so the swirls will return. But this is the best method if you are doing your 'polishing' by hand. Abrasive correction is the only way to get rid of them permanently and as Joel said you are limited with what you can do by hand. Very little result for a lot of effort. Another thing you could try is using a glaze before the sealant although there are not many glazes that are compatible with sealants. Amigo and Chemical guys ez creme are about the only 2 that are intended for that purpose.

OK, I took your advice and have just received my new DAS6 and a good range of Chemical Guys, Prima and Pinnacle products. I'll be getting stuck into my cars over the weekend. When finished I'll post some pics so you can let me know what you reckon. Cheers......
